The day began with a morning gap up and that was the last real positive move of the day. Broad-based selling was sending most stocks lower than they had been in months. Each time they went up a few ticks, the stock would roll-over. Dip-buyers quick on the exit could make some money but short-sellers saw the biggest gains.
