As of 9:15 ET, futures trading has stopped. The S&P 500 futures ended higher by 0.3%, Dow futures added 0.1%, and Nasdaq futures shed 0.1%.
While equity futures and equity markets are closed today, all other CME Group products, including NYMEX and COMEX, will settle at their normal times.
Reports suggest that there was no damage to the NYSE (NYX 24.84, 0.00) floor. Although no decision has been made yet, it is expected that trading will resume in some form tomorrow for the end of the month.
Looking at today's Case-Shiller 20-city Home Price Index. The year-over-year reading revealed a 2.0% increase, while a the Briefing.com consensus had expected the reading to rise by 1.7%. Out of the 20 cities, only Seattle, Washington posted a decline. Also of note, annual declines in prices are being observed in Atlanta, Chicago, and New York. Today's reading follows last month's 1.2% increase.
Overseas, key European indices are all seeing gains near 1.0%. The euro is adding 65 pips against the dollar, as the pair trades near 1.2970.
